Learn to Play Guitar
   With the advent of games such as Guitar Hero, the guitar is more popular than ever and many people want to learn to play guitar.
 Naturally, if you have never played guitar before, some of the questions that you have might be; is it difficult to learn to play guitar? what is the best way to get stared? how long will it take before I can play my favorite songs? and, should I play acoustic or electric guitar.
 In choosing a course of study in guitar for beginners,you should give some thought to just what your goals on the guitar will be.
 Some information about the basic differences in playing styles with regard to acoustic guitar and electric guitar should be helpful in deciding how you are going to start to learn the guitar.
 The acoustic guitar is, of course, much older than the electric guitar and so, with the acoustic guitar, you are more apt to meet up with the Spanish Classical style of playing as well as folk music.
 The Spanish Classical style of playing is one that requires traditional note reading and plucking the strings individually with your right hand fingers.
 The pop style of playing usually associated with the electric guitar has its own school of technique which usually involves picking with a pick and bar chords. It is important to understand that these styles of playing overlap between acoustic and electric guitar a great deal and it is not at all uncommon to find a classical style of playing in a pop band.
 As far as guitar for beginners goes, the average student is eager to play their favorite songs and often find that a course in traditional note reading alone simply does not suit their expectations for being able to play their favorite songs in a timely fashion.
 Luckily, there is an alternate system of musical notation to learn the guitar called Tabs.
 Take a look at the picture of Tabs below;

Find out about the most complete course to learn to play guitar in any style!
 Tabs is a pictorial representation of your six guitar strings. The thing to bear in mind about this is that the top line in the Tabs (not counting the very top line with the two fours on it, which is where the rhythm would go) is the bottom string on your guitar when you have it in playing position. (String number one)
 Now have a look at the next diagram;
 The numbers on the lines indicate fret numbers on the particular strings of your guitar that you would use to get the notes of any song you were learning that was notated in Tabs.
 Most guitars have dots at the fifth, seventh, ninth and twelfth frets for ease in locating the fret number you want.
 Again, for guitar for beginners, be aware that the Tabs you are using may or may not have some indication of the rhythm. This is very important for everyone who wants to learn to play guitar!
 Rhythm is an essential element of music. The best Tabs to use are the ones you can get at your local music store that have Tabs and traditional notation together. This way you can explore traditional notation and, most importantly, you can learn the rhythm. If you expect the song to sound correct and be able to play in a group, you must have rhythm and this is true whether you play acoustic guitar or electric.
