Tea With The Alien – My Journey from UFOs to Music, Mysticism, and Storytelling
There are moments in life that shift everything. Sometimes they come quietly, in a way you hardly notice at first, and other times they appear so vividly that you know instantly nothing will ever be the same. For me, one of those moments came on the 4th of July in Chino, California. It began with fireworks, as the holiday usually does, but quickly turned into something far stranger—an encounter that eventually became the inspiration behind my music project and album Tea With The Alien.
This post is a peek into the story behind Tea With The Alien—where it came from, what it means, and how it has grown from a UFO sighting to a set of music, an album, a video, and even a book.
The Night That Started It All
It was a warm summer night, and I decided to step outside onto the porch of my second-floor apartment to see what kind of fireworks might be going on. Fireworks are always interesting, but that evening my attention was drawn to something much more unusual: a small cluster of lights on the horizon.
At first, they looked like satellites, but something about them was off. They weren’t moving randomly or drifting apart—they were flying in formation. Intrigued, I grabbed my telescope and focused in. Just as they came directly overhead, I saw something that made my breath catch. One by one, the objects began to disappear—vanishing into the night sky as if they were flying straight up into another dimension.
At that exact moment, a security guard happened to be walking by. He asked me, in a casual, friendly way, what I was looking at. I simply pointed at the sky. When he saw what I was seeing, his face went pale. All he could say was, “Oh, I don’t even want to deal with that.”
And that was it. In a single evening, I had gone from watching fireworks to witnessing something I couldn’t explain. That experience was the spark that ignited a much larger journey.
From UFOs to Spirituality
After that night, I couldn’t stop thinking about what I had seen. It was more than just curiosity—it felt like the universe had opened a door and I couldn’t ignore it. This led me into a search that was as much spiritual as it was intellectual.
That path eventually brought me to the Spiritualist Church of the Revival, the oldest Spiritualist church in America. Interestingly, the church was originally started by two little girls who claimed to communicate with Benjamin Franklin after his passing, using a series of knocks as a code. That mix of history, mysticism, and communication with the unseen resonated with me deeply.
I soon became the Music Director for the church. It was a role that allowed me to explore how music could function not only as entertainment but as a spiritual practice, a way of connecting with things beyond the physical.
The church often met in a small bookstore called The Look Within, a cozy, mystical place that felt like it existed halfway between worlds. One day, a channeler came to visit the store. She wasn’t Abraham Hicks, but her work was similar—she channeled a collective consciousness from Sirius. I was fascinated, and I joined her class, attending every week for a full year.
During those sessions, something very simple became ritual: we would always drink tea. Slowly, this image—of sipping tea while communing with the otherworldly—merged with my earlier UFO experience. The phrase Tea With The Alien was born.
The Music Takes Shape
As my spiritual journey deepened, my music began to change. I had already been experimenting with new sounds and approaches, but now I wanted to capture the strange, mysterious energy of those experiences.
I started with improvisations, just letting the music flow as though I were channeling it directly from the source. These sessions became performances, and I played them live at The Look Within. The music was exploratory, full of shifting textures and unexpected turns, almost as if it were a conversation between myself and something beyond me.
Over time, these improvisations evolved into a structured project. I reworked and recorded the pieces, turning them into a full album. That album, of course, was called Tea With The Alien. It wasn’t just music anymore—it was a sonic reflection of my journey, from the lights in the sky to the tea in the bookstore to the act of channeling something unseen.
Beyond Music – The Stories
But the journey didn’t stop at music. The ideas and imagery behind Tea With The Alien began to spill over into writing. I found myself creating short stories, each one inspired by different aspects of the experience.
These stories gradually linked together, becoming chapters in a larger narrative. Eventually, they formed a book, also titled Tea With The Alien, which will soon be released on Amazon Kindle.
The book is part memoir, part fiction, part exploration. Just like the music, it weaves together the mystical, the imaginative, and the personal. It’s about what it feels like to stand on the edge of the known and look into the unknown.
The Video
With music and writing already part of the project, it felt natural to extend Tea With The Alien into video. I wanted to create a visual language that matched the sound and story—something that was atmospheric, otherworldly, and a little mysterious.
The video for Tea With The Alien captures that. It’s not just an illustration of the song, but an extension of it, another way of stepping into the strange world that started on my apartment porch that 4th of July night.
The Bigger Picture
When I look back at that evening in Chino, I realize how easily I could have missed it. I could have stayed inside, ignored the fireworks, or never looked up at the lights in the sky. But I did look, and because I did, everything changed.
Tea With The Alien isn’t just an album, a book, or a video—it’s a reminder of what happens when we pay attention, when we open ourselves up to the unknown. It’s about the way art can grow out of experience, the way sound, story, and imagery can all be connected by a single thread of inspiration.
In the end, it doesn’t matter whether the lights I saw that night were UFOs, satellites, or something else entirely. What matters is the way they set me on a path—a path of music, creativity, and discovery.

I hope you enjoy the music and the story it tells. And maybe, the next time you step outside and look up at the night sky, you’ll find yourself wondering what’s really out there—and what kind of journey might begin if you decide to pay attention.
Closing Thoughts
Tea With The Alien has become more than just a project for me. It’s a symbol of how the most unexpected events can lead to the most meaningful journeys. What started as fireworks in the sky became a UFO sighting. What started as a UFO sighting became a spiritual search. What started as a spiritual search became music, then writing, then a video.
And in the end, it all comes down to a simple but powerful idea: connection. Connection to the universe, connection to mystery, connection to creativity, and connection to each other.
So here’s my invitation to you: pour yourself a cup of tea, put on the track, and join me in a little conversation with the unknown.
